Airable’s Flourishing Sphere
Airable Research Lab began as a small-scale venture, capitalizing on a big idea: bring soy-based R&D in-house to maintain control over research scope, save on consultant fees, and reap greater benefits. The Ohio Soybean Council recognized the opportunity, and the lab was launched.
Airable is headed into its third full year of operations—and boy, has this idea taken off! The lab is now working with four soy state partners. In addition to OSC, Airable receives funding from the Illinois Soybean Board, Iowa Soybean Association, and Michigan Soybean Committee. These organizations recognize the value in soy-based R&D and are pleased to devote resources to its expansion. With the additional support, our researchers have created dozens of soy-based formulations, from soap and sanitizer to paste wax and polyol to sealant and “soylicone”—and we’re also able to accelerate steps toward commercialization, both through our own marketing efforts and through commercial partnerships.
As Airable grows beyond Ohio’s boundaries, our resources and visibility likewise increase. We anticipate new strides in R&D, significant headway in engaging industry partners, and many new soy-based products hitting the shelves in 2022.
