The Ohio Soybean Council (OSC) received two R&D 100 Awards November 16 at the 56th annual R&D 100 Awards in Orlando, Florida, for a soy-based floor coating that was funded with Ohio soybean farmers’ checkoff dollars. The R&D 100 Awards honor the 100 most innovative technologies of the past year. Jerry Bambauer, At-Large ASA Representative Jerry Bambauer farms nearly 900 acres on his farm in Auglaize County. He serves as a member of the OSA Board of Trustees as well as the Ohio Soybean Council Board of Trustees. He previously served as OSA President, Chairman, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. The Ohio Soybean Council (OSC) invests soybean checkoff dollars into projects that help increase the usage of soybeans and bioproducts. Recently, OSC helped fund a National Biodiesel Board (NBB) project to expand the biodiesel market in locomotives. This year, the Ohio Soybean Council’s state fair booth had a few special visitors. Fourteen influencers, or social media users who have large audiences and established credibility, stopped by the booth to learn more about Ohio soybean farmers.
